Paul Mescal Career
Mescal graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Acting from The Lir Academy at Trinity College Dublin in 2017. While he was still studying at the Lir Academy, he was offered several roles in high-profile productions including ‘Angela’s Ashes’ and ‘The Great Gatsby’.
He also played in other theatrical shows like Hans Christian Andersen’s ‘The Red Shoes’.Most of the works done by Paul are at the theatrical level. In 2018, he got the role of Lieutenant Langon in ‘The Plough and the Stars’. He also played the role of Bryan in the world premiere of ‘Asking for It’.
The same year, he acted in ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ and ‘A Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man’ for the Dublin Theatre Festival and Kilkenny Arts Festival.
Paul’s breakthrough came recently in 2020 after he was taken in the main role of Connell Waldron in the Hulu and BBC Three series ‘Normal People’. He is also set to play the role of Matt in the upcoming comedy series ‘Bump’.
